The Royal Palace Phnom Penh

The Royal Palace Phnom Penh is the residence of the King of Cambodia and the buildings are used for royal weddings and coronations.

The palace has been in use since its construction in the 1860's albeit for a short period under the Khmer Rouge. It formed the focus of Phnom Penh when the capital was moved here from Oudong.

Highlights include the Throne Hall, the Moonlight Pavilion and the Silver Pagoda which is also located within the complex. Together they are among the finest examples of Khmer architecture.

It's one of the main sights of Phnom Penh and a must do on any visit to Cambodia's capital.
